Family Migration

The Applicant must be sponsored by a close family member or fiancé living in Australia.

The sponsor must be either:

  • an Australian citizen; or
  • a Permanent Resident of Australia; or
  • an eligible New Zealand citizen; and
  • must be 18 years of age or older.

There is no test for skills or language ability under this category.

Applicants can be sponsored for migration in one of the following visa categories:

  • Partner
  • Child
  • Parent and
  • Other family including (Aged Dependent Relative, Remaining Relative or Career)

Under Australia's family reunion migration program high priority (in processing applications) is given to Child and Partner applications.
